Since 2000, Verizon has risen as a powerful force in the world of innovation, and its reach goes way beyond cell service and phone plans. Creative thinking and strategic acquisitions have led to a rapid expansion of their lineup of media and products, all with the aim of guiding the world toward a promising technological future.

We at Adolescent joined forces with Verizon and NYC-based creative agency Addison, our studio created a minute-long, branded infographic animation that tells the story of Verizon’s evolution through the years, detailing its illustrious history and emphasizing its exciting future as a prominent leader in the tech industry.

DESIGN

When thinking about the design, our challenge was to pack two decades worth of accomplishments into a video that was sophisticated, clever, accessible -- and under 60 seconds. We did this using a variety of techniques; namely with a color palette that felt very Verizon brand, bold typography and iconographic illustration styles.

MOTION

The animation brought the elements all together, pairing simple and clever graphics with a number of recognizable cultural references and a large variety of brand assets, such as YouTube, Facebook, AOL, and Android. The animation style kept the sequence on a 2D linear plane, but within each scene we had levels of dimension to make sure different points were driven home. Of course with with all things considered, it is critical for the video to be fun and entertaining to watch, but still informative. A production with the result of an upbeat, informative video, topped off with a fun animation of the Verizon brand logo.
