Subway, Dentsu, and Adolescent teamed up again- this time making some massive splashes in New York City all over Instagram. Subway created the snack of the summer: Dippers! Delicious chicken, cheese, and pepperoni melted into a wrap, made to be dipped into some of Subway’s iconic sauces. Dippers would have one of the biggest nationwide launches of the summer and the Subway team wanted to promote this new product in a bigger way than ever before.
Our friends on the Subway team at Dentsu Creative wanted to make this launch feel bigger than ever before. They came to us to create immersive illusion videos to launch the Dippers in a huge way.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
Our mission was to create two NYC Dippers takeovers: one sauce tsunami in the streets of Midtown, and one where we took an iconic fountain and filled it with Subway’s honey mustard sauce. Our multi-skilled creatives navigated the intricacies of the different sauces, using Houdini to craft realistic sauce animations that made viewers everywhere double-take and check the news to see if there was really a fountain of honey mustard somewhere in Manhattan.
SOCIAL MEDIA
The launch was the cornerstone of a broader campaign for the highly anticipated product. There were Dippers activations all over the nation ranging from a Dippers Dip ‘n Slide to celebrity endorsements, and nationally syndicated commercials. Our videos were a huge success in this campaign. With nearly fifty thousand likes across both videos on social, it’s safe to say that this project was a slam dunk (or dip!).
