Subway, Dentsu Creative, and Adolescent team up once again to deliver some (literally) fiery content to social media! Subway is launching a new limited edition spicy tracksuit to promote their spicy Ghost Pepper Bread. At Adolescent, we were tasked with crafting a vibrant and red-hot CGI animation featuring a “ghost” tracksuit doing parkour through a vivid volcanic atmosphere to bring this product to life and stoke the social media fire for Subway’s spicy era.
CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT
We modeled a detailed green Subway tracksuit, keeping a close match to the original tracksuit in the weight of the fabric, the color of the suit, and how it would hang on a real person. We opted for a green tracksuit to contrast with the sunset background of the world we created so the product stands out.
We were given a fairly open brief on the movement of the tracksuit, we knew the tracksuit had to move realistically and look cool while doing it. We decided to play up the athleticism and have our Subway ghost do parkour: starting with some realistic stretching, then clearing various obstacles in the volcanic background world before jumping over a giant Subway sign and sticking the landing.
We topped off this spicy animation with some over the top elements to really sell through the fun like raining jalapeños, fire shooting out of the tracksuit, and the landing of three of the spicy subs that Subway is now offering. These extra creative additions intensified the wacky, playful and spicy video that took it above and beyond just another social video.
